Internship Spotlight: Institute on Economics and International Affairs (IEIA) – Potomac Institute for Policy Studies

In today’s Internship Spotlight, we are featuring the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies, which has hosted TFAS students in their International Center for Terrorism Studies over the past few years.  Known as one of the most well respected think tanks in the DC area, the Potomac Institute exposes interns to the history of terrorism and the modern day study and growth of terrorist acts around the world. The Institute plays a pivotal role in monitoring current and future threats of terrorism, developing response strategies on government and non-governmental levels and continuing communication with policymakers, academic institutes and civic organizations.

Last summer the Potomac Institute hosted three students from the Institute on Comparative Political and Economic Systems (ICPES) program.  One of these students, William Pentis of Arizona State University, was able to assist in the publication of various materials and research terrorism and counter-terrorism policies during his time at the Institute.

Internship experiences like these serve as great stepping stones to future internships and full time positions. To learn more about the Institute on Economics and International Affairs and to begin an online application, please visit www.DCinternships.org/IEIA.
